Dragon Army Earns a Web Excellence Award for The Cube Game

If you read the Discover a Dragon profile about me (hiiii 👋🏼), you know that Dragon Army got its start in 2013 as a video game producer. Since then, we’ve evolved to become a respected end-to-end digital marketing agency. At the center of it all is the heart of a game studio. It impacts how we attract, engage, and retain audiences for beloved brands.

In 2021, TBS brought an American adaption of the U.K. game show THE CUBE to U.S. audiences. The company wanted to build excitement by giving audiences a chance to test their own skills on challenges they would see on the show.

We had already worked with TBS to build successful endemic games for other shows, so they approached us to build this fun marketing engagement tool for them. Using our proprietary method, Applied Game Theory (AGT), we built a web-based game that features a high-fidelity interface and sophisticated retention mechanics, making the experience as challenging and fun as the television show version.

The results were amazing! Between June and August 2021, the game achieved more than 144,000 visits and 280,000 unique game starts. And Dragon Army earned another Web Excellence Award in the Website / Games & Gaming Related category.
